PIERRE AND MARCEL RAGUES COMPLETE EPIC TOUR AUTO CLASSIC IN TOP 20
The father and son partnership of Marcel and Pierre Ragues enjoyed their participation in last week’s Tour Auto Classic, bringing their journey to a successful conclusion in Nice on Saturday evening.
With some 230 entrants, it was a highly competitive field, so it was a fantastic result for Family Ragues to bring their car home in an excellent 20th place.
Taking to the cockpit of a classic 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint over the five day event, Pierre and Marcel took in some spectacular scenery and emulated some legendary road routes from the Tour de France Automobile from Paris down to Nice.
Covering a distance of some 2,000km during the five days, reliability and endurance was at the heart of the Ragues road trip, something that Pierre is extremely familiar with from his participation in endurance racing – even if the speeds were somewhat lower for this event!
Pierre said: “Wow, what a fantastic event! I loved every minute of this event and it was great to share the experience with my father. The route is long and challenging but it takes in some absolutely amazing scenery and some legendary routes. From Paris to Nice and everything in between, it is definitely an experience I would like to repeat in the future. The whole event had a perfect organisation and a wonderful atmosphere which made it a real pleasure for me and my father. I’d like to thank everyone who made our participation possible and I look forward to doing it again hopefully next year!”
