PIERRE RAGUES READY TO RACE AFTER FINAL WARM-UP CHECKS Photo News
Pierre Ragues and the Signatech-Alpine team have finished the final system checks on their A450 LMP2 race car. The team completed eight laps in this morning’s warm-up session as they gear up to start this afternoon’s Le Mans 24 Hours. The 45-minute session was curtailed by four minutes as an on-track incident brought out the red flag – a common feature of this week’s Le Mans!

The race will get underway at the 13.6km La Sarthe circuit at 15.00 local time this afternoon with Pierre taking part in his seventh Le Mans this weekend. The weather conditions were dry but cloudy in this morning’s warm-up session but the inclement and often changeable conditions this week could well result in some rain during the race.

Pierre said: “It’s been a fantastic build-up to this year’s Le Mans, the 90th anniversary event, but I cannot wait for the race to be underway. The crowds and atmosphere are increasing and although the weather is still a bit overcast, we are ready for the race. There has been a real buzz about the Signatech-Alpine team this week and the return of the Alpine brand to Le Mans after 35 years, so I hope to channel some of that excitement into the race. We used this morning’s warm-up to carry out final checks on the car and to practice driver changes so all in all I feel well prepared.”
