PIERRE RAGUES DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM LE MANS FANS AT TRADITIONAL DRIVERS’ PARADE
French driver Pierre Ragues has joined his Signatech-Alpine team-mates for the traditional pre-event drivers’ parade at Le Mans this evening.
The parade, which is welcome and vaunted part of the Le Mans preparations, took place in front of thousands of passionate motorsport fans all waiting in anticipation of the 24 Hours race that gets underway at the the Circuit de la Sarthe tomorrow afternoon.
Pierre joined team-mates Nelson Panciatici and Tristan Gommendy for the event, which acts as the prelude for this weekend’s 90th anniversary of the Le Mans 24 Hours, and also heralds Pierre’s own seventh participation in the legendary event.
The Signatech-Alpine squad will be starting this weekend’s race from eighth in LMP2 but drawing plenty of positives from an encouraging pace in pre-event testing and remaining confident in their ability to climb up the order.
Pierre said: “The drivers’ parade is always a very special part of our Le Mans experience and it always highlights the importance of the Le Mans 24 Hours. To have the opportunity to get so close to the fans, to show our own passion for racing and to share the thrills of the event with those watching and supporting us is just phenomenal. Tomorrow, we return to track action with warm-up and then the 24 Hours get underway. It’s going to be another electric race and I can’t wait to get underway tomorrow afternoon.”
