Pierre Ragues and the Signatech-Alpine LMP2 squad will be looking to make up positions in this afternoon’s 3 Hours of Imola after Nelson Panciatici qualified the A450 in fourth place in this morning’s qualifying session.

Despite a spin during the session, Panciatici was able to qualify on the cusp of the podium places as the Signatech-Alpine look to build further on the fourth place they secured at the last race at Silverstone.

There are positive signs that the team can challenge with the front-runners this afternoon after posting the quickest time in Friday’s second practice with Pierre and the team amassing 55 laps during the day.

Although the sun has been shining on the Autodromo Dino e Enzo Ferrari so far today, there is a threat of some rain for the race so all eyes will be on the skies as this year’s second race of the European Le Mans Series gets underway.

Pierre commented: “We’ve had all sorts of conditions this weekend with a wet-dry practice yesterday in which we were able to demonstrate the potential of the Signatech-Alpine A450 with wet, intermediate and dry weather Michelin tyres. This morning, Nelson had a spin but was able to set the fourth time which sets us up quite nicely for a podium challenge, as per our objective. We know the weather might still play a part but we have to be hopeful of a solid afternoon of racing around this Imola circuit.”
