PIERRE RAGUES GETS READY FOR LE MANS WITH MAGNY-COURS TEST
Pierre Ragues conducted a short test last week together with the Signatech-Alpine LMP2 team in order to begin preparations for the biggest test of the season – the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Frenchman drove around a quarter of the team’s accumulated 400km, sharing the car with his team-mate for Le Mans, Tristan Gommendy. Mixed weather conditions meant that the team carried out a combination of dry and wet weather testing but the rain gave the team a useful opportunity to check Michelin wet weather tyres and to run a wet aerodynamic set-up.
The test continued into the dark hours of the evening enabling the team and drivers to evaluate the elements of night driving that will represent some of the toughest hours of the Le Mans event that takes place in late June.
Pierre said: “It is always good to get some tests behind us as we prepare for the biggest event of the year. The weather was mainly wet but it is always useful to get a variety of testing conditions because Le Mans can throw up some unexpected surprises. We completed around 400kms in total and worked on tyres, aero and some night driving, all of which will be valuable information for us when Le Mans gets underway in a few weeks’ time.”
