PIERRE RAGUES HOPING TO MAKE UP GROUND IN SILVERSTONE 6 HOURS
G-Drive by Signatech-Nissan driver Pierre Ragues is determined to make up positions in this afternoon’s 6 Hours of Silverstone after a disappointing qualifying session on Saturday afternoon.
Ragues, together with team-mates Nelson Panciatici and Roman Rusinov, have racked up the laps during the Silverstone weekend so far, completing 37 laps in both of Friday’s practice sessions and another 33 on Saturday morning.
Rain after yesterday’s morning session left the track damp for qualifying but the team coped well, using cut tyres for the first part of the qualifying session. Pierre assumed qualifying duties and got off to a competitive start but the Frenchman was disappointed with his final run which saw him finish down in 13th place in LMP2. Nonetheless, Pierre is determined to fight back in this afternoon’s race.
Pierre said: “It was a disappointing qualifying on Saturday and I was not satisfied with my run. I felt good at the start of the session on cut tyres but I could not get my lap to work on slicks. It was a shame after the positive practice sessions but I am completely determined to fight back in the race this afternoon. The G-Drive by Signatech-Nissan team has worked hard this weekend and we have a lot of laps completed, so I hope we can use this to our advantage in the race.”
