PIERRE RAGUES CONCLUDES COMPETITIVE FIRST STINTS AT LE MANS WITH G-DRIVE BY SIGNATECH-NISSAN
Pierre Ragues has shown competitive pace in his opening triple stint at this weekend’s 80th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours after two hours behind the wheel of the G-Drive by Signatech-Nissan Oreca 03.
Taking over from team-mate Nelson Panciatici around 90 minutes into the race, Pierre enjoyed a strong triple stint to take the team to 16th place overall and sixth in LMP2 as he pitted to hand over the reins to Roman Rusinov at 18.45 local time.
After wet track conditions in warm-up and throughout the morning, the track had dried out for the start of the race but tricky driving conditions prevailed in the very early stages of this 24 hour race.
Pierre said: “I am extremely pleased with my three stints. I felt at ease with the car and was able to make up a lot of positions to be sixth in LMP2 when I handed over to Roman. I got into a good rhythm and the G-Drive by Signatech-Nissan Oreca 03 performed competitively which bodes well for us heading into the evening. I look forward to getting back in the cockpit later when I hope we will have made more progress through the field.”
