FRANCK MAILLEUX GETS A FEEL FOR THE WET CONDITIONS IN WARM-UP Photo News

Franck Mailleux completed just a couple of laps in this morning’s Le Mans warm-up as wet conditions prevented any meaningful final running.

With the start of the famous 24 hour race just a few hours away, Signatech-Nissan had hoped to carry out final checks on their Oreca 03 car but the wet track did give its drivers, including Franck, the chance to get a feel for the car’s behaviour in the difficult conditions.

The team will now prepare for the race with Franck given the honour of starting for the team in his fourth Le Mans outing.

Franck said: “The wet conditions have thrown us a bit of a curve ball because we have had dry running up to now but at least we had a chance in warm-up to see how the car reacts in these conditions. We don’t know how the weather will develop from now but we will be ready to react whatever happens. The car feels good, the guys in the team are all experienced and we know there is a long race ahead of us, so we’ll just take things as they come.”
