Pierre Ragues will continue his 2016 rally programme next weekend with a brand new partner team in the opening round of the French Rally Championship – the 56th running of Rallye du Touquet 

 

Pierre will be joining the 2C Competition team, supported by oil company Yacco, who have been French Rally Championship winners three times in a row. 

 

The Caen-born racer, who is again managing a joint rally and World Endurance Championship assault this season, got his rally campaign off to a stellar start last month, in the Citroën DS3 R5. 

 

Ragues stormed to an R5 class win and overall podium in Rallye de la Côte Fleurie at the end of February so will be looking to make his mark in the Touquet event next weekend - again behind the wheel of his DS3 with co-driver Julien Pesenti.

 

As part of the 2C Yacco team, Pierre will be eligible to score points not only for the Rallye du Touquet event, but also at Lyon-Charbonnieres. 

 

Rallye du Touquet will take place from 17-19 March and comprises two full days of stage action. Friday will see nine stages totalling 99.78km with a further nine stages on Saturday over 109.40km. 

 

The total distance of 209.18km will offer an action-packed challenge for Ragues as he looks to improve on his impressive debut in the event last year. He finished seventh overall in 2015, third in the R5 class, while also claiming second in the highly regarded Michelin trophy.
