PIERRE RAGUES READY FOR RALLYE LE TOUQUET – PAS DE CALAIS Photo News
Fresh from his R5 victory and overall podium at Rallye de la Côte Fleurie in late February, Pierre Ragues will return to the cockpit of his Skoda Fabia R5 at next weekend’s Rallye le Touquet – Pas de Calais.

The 59th running of the popular French event represents the opening round of the 2019 French Rally Championship, and takes place from 15-16 March. The rally covers 14 competitive special stages over a total competitive distance of over 200km. A pre-event shakedown will be held on Thursday to allow competitors a first taste of the terrain.

Pierre will be joined once again by co-driver Julien Pesenti in the Michelin-equipped Skoda R5 aiming for a repeat of the podium performance they achieved a few weeks’ back. It promises to be another closely fought event with over 100 entrants vying for position in the various categories.

Pierre continues to receive support from his partners GroupAuto, Top Garage, Ellip6 and Yacco, as he builds towards his full season in the European Le Mans Series, which begins in April.

Pierre commented: “Rallye de la Côte Fleurie was a very positive weekend for us, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to get straight back into rally mode at Le Touquet. It is a rally I have contested before, and one that offers its own unique challenges. Run over two complete days, it requires focus, concentration and a longer game plan. I am extremely comfortable in the Skoda Fabia R5 and with the Michelin tyres, a package that allowed us to secure stage wins and an overall podium in our last event. Alongside Julien on co-driver duties, I hope we can repeat that sort of performance again, knowing of course that the competitive is very tough. Bring it on!”
