PIERRE RAGUES PREPARES TO GET 2019 OFF TO A FLYER AT CÔTE FLEURIE Photo News
Pierre Ragues will return to the scene of his triumphant victory when he lines up for the 49th running of the Rallye de la Côte Fleurie next week.

Pierre will take to the cockpit of a Michelin-equipped Skoda R5 alongside co-driver Julien Pesenti for the popular event that, for the 2019 edition, will be made up of ten special stages.

As part of the Coupe de France des Rallyes, the Côte Fleurie event has a hugely competitive line-up with over 100 entrants across all classes. Pierre will be among the favourites, having won the event overall in 2018 in WRC-specification machinery and finishing fastest of the R5 cars in 2017.

Competitors will tackle a total distance of 132.2km, starting on Friday evening with a short 3.7km stage. The main action takes place on Saturday with a trio of stages run three times. Each loop is made up of a 12.9km, 9.8km and 18.3km stage respectively, taking crews through familiar routes.

Pierre, who has also announced an exciting European Le Mans Series (ELMS) campaign with Duqueine Engineering for this coming season, will use the rally as a way of honing his driving skills after the winter break. He has also been able to make use of the Ellip6 simulators to prepare for the rally, while also continuing to benefit from the support of his partners GroupAuto, Top Garage and Yacco.

Pierre commented: “I am delighted to return to Côte Fleurie for the fourth year in a row, a rally I know well and one that I enjoy tremendously. I have had a lot of success in this event, winning the R5 class in 2017 and then taking overall victory last year in WRC machinery. This year, Julien and I will be returning to the competitive Skoda R5 with Michelin tyres, ready to fight at the front. As always, it is a very competitive entry list for this rally, an important round on the Coupe de France des Rallyes, so I am pleased that we can be part of it. Together with my partners GroupAuto, Top Garage, Yacco and Ellip6, it will be a great start to what promises to be an exciting season!”
