PIERRE RAGUES READY TO BOUNCE BACK AT SILVERSTONE Photo News Press Release
Tuesday 14 August 2018

Pierre Ragues will be aiming to get his 2018 European Le Mans Series campaign back on track as the championship continues at the famous Silverstone circuit in the UK this weekend.

The French ace was on outstanding form at the previous round in Austria, as the Duqueine Engineering squad crossed the line second in LMP2. Unfortunately, a post-race penalty saw them lose their hard-fought position.

Still, the performance of the #29 Oreca 07 LMP2 and crew – Pierre, Nelson Panciatici and Nicolas Jamin – will give the team plenty of encouragement for the fourth race weekend of the season.

ELMS will be part of an action-packed weekend of endurance racing, with the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) also being held at the 5.891km, 18-turn British track.

42 ELMS cars will compete for glory in the respective classes with another close battle expected at the front of LMP2. Pierre is very familiar with the Silverstone circuit, having previously taken podium results in LMP2 and GTE. The French endurance racer will be hoping for a similar result at a venue where wet weather can often play its part.

Pierre will once again be supported by GroupAuto, Yacco, Spaco and Ellip6 as the 2018 ELMS season enters its second half.

Pierre commented: “We want to put the disappointment of Red Bull Ring quickly behind us all and resume our championship challenge. We know we had a competitive technical package in Austria, as we also showed at Le Castellet and Monza, so we are expecting to be back in the fight at Silverstone. It’s a fun track, one that I know well from previous visits, so we should be able to get up to speed quickly. Nelson, Nico and I are all determined to show our pace once again with the competitive Oreca 07 and Michelin tyres. It will be another hotly contested weekend. With the WEC also taking place at Silverstone over the weekend, we’ll be in good company – and look forward to putting on a good show. Thanks, as always, to my personal partners GroupAuto, Yacco, Sparco and Ellip6 for their unwavering support.”
