PIERRE RAGUES AIMS TO CONTINUE COMPETITIVE FORM AT RALLYE LYON-CHARBONNIÈRES Photo News
Fresh from his podium finish in last weekend’s 4 Hours of Le Castellet in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), Pierre Ragues will be back in rally action this weekend at the ever popular Rallye Lyon-Charbonnières.

The French ace, who has already triumphed in rally this season, will join co-driver Julien Pesenti in a Skoda Fabia R5 for the 70th edition of the event. 115 crews will contest the 13-stage rally, which gets underway in earnest on Friday morning. Shakedown will take place on Thursday.

Back in February, Pierre took an impressive victory in Rallye de le Côte Fleurie, his first event in WRC machinery. Returning to the R5 class in the Lyon event, Pierre will be battling for glory against some big names and manufacturers.

The rally forms part of the French Tarmac Championship and the prestigious Coupe de France des Rallyes. Covering a total stage distance of 226.78km across two days, it promises to be a spectacular event once again.

Pierre commented: “I have always enjoyed participating at Lyon-Charbonnières and I hope to continue my strong start to the 2018 season in this year’s event. It is a long and tricky event, which requires full focus, particularly in such a competitive field. We have lots of manufacturers’ machinery represented, so I am honoured to fly the flag for the Skoda Fabia R5 this weekend. With 13 stages held over 226km, it will be a fun challenge. Thanks, as always, to my partners GroupAuto, Sparco, Ellip6 and Yacco.”
