Pierre Ragues has enjoyed a triumphant rally return this weekend as he has taken his Skoda Fabia R5 to a dominant outright victory in Saint-Germain-la-Campagne.

The eighth running of the popular event, which forms part of the Coupe de France des Rallyes, was hotly contested across seven stages with over 140 participating crews and multiple classes.

In dry conditions, the rally got underway on Saturday evening with a 4.5km stage, with Pierre and co-driver Julien Pesenti setting an immediately quick pace.

With six stages held on Sunday, run over 35km, Pierre continued to impress, consistently setting the fastest time to win the event comfortably by 54 seconds.

It marks the second rally success for the Ragues-Pesenti crew following the pair’s victory in Rallye de Mézidon-Canon back in May. Pierre continues to benefit from the support of his partners GroupAuto, Top Garage, Ellip6 and Sparco.

Pierre said: “What a fun weekend that was. It has been brilliant to get back into rally mode, and to have the chance to drive the fantastic Skoda Fabia R5. It’s never easy competing in local events such as these, with so many experienced and knowledgeable crews. But, I felt immediately at ease alongside Julien, in our R5 car and we were able to dictate the pace from the start. The weather stayed dry and we had a pretty trouble-free weekend. Thanks to my partners for their support, as always. I’m now looking forward to some time off to prepare the next phase of my racing and rallying career.”
