The Signatech Alpine Matmut team will line up second and third in LMP2 for tomorrow afternoon’s 6 Hours of Spa, with Pierre Ragues’ #35 car well placed for a podium charge.

 

Pierre’s team-mates Nelson Panciatici and André Negrão were on qualifying duties on Saturday afternoon in the Alpine A470 for the first race of their 2017 campaign.

 

The 7.004km Spa track will allow Pierre the chance to get his up to speed in the competitive FIA World Endurance Championship, where he will aim to score a third consecutive podium finish at the popular Belgian track.

 

“We’re pleased with our qualifying performance after a very tightly contested session,” said Pierre. “We are confident in the performance of the Alpine A470 on this high-speed demanding track, and hope that translates to a podium finish on Sunday evening. That’s definitely our aim! With our sister car, the #36, in second place, it looks promising for a competitive team performance tomorrow.”
