PIERRE RAGUES READY FOR RALLY PODIUM PUSH AFTER SILVERSTONE SUCCESS Photo News
Fresh from finishing on the GTE-Am podium at last weekend’s season-opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Silverstone, French race ace Pierre Ragues moves immediately back into rally mode for the second round of the French Rally Championship this weekend.

Ragues, who impressed on his GT debut at the 6 Hours of Silverstone, will re-join the 2C Yacco team for this weekend’s 68th running of Rally Lyon-Charbonnieres.

The event follows the Championship’s opening round, Rallye du Touquet, in which Pierre finished on the R5 podium, sixth overall and took second in the highly regarded Michelin trophy.

He will once again partner co-driver Julien Pesenti behind the wheel of a Citroën DS3-R5 as they tackle 14 special stages over a distance of 215.47km. The rally is a familiar one to Pierre and will be his third competitive rally outing of 2016.

The event takes place over two days of competitive running with a variety of challenging stages that will put Pierre’s recent rally experiences to the test. It’s a challenge that the Caen-born driver will relish as he continues to showcase his rally skills against experienced opposition.

Pierre said: “I am still reflecting on my positive weekend in Silverstone and my debut GT podium in the FIA World Endurance Championship. It was a positive weekend but now my focus has already shifted onto my next rally challenge – and Lyon-Charbonnieres. It will be my third rally of the year so far and my second in the French Rally Championship with the 2C Yacco team. It will be great to be back with the team and I am grateful for the opportunity to show my skills with them on a competitive rally. We had a very good run in Le Touquet, taking an R5 podium with the Citroën DS3-R5 and finishing second in the prestigious Michelin trophy. We will look to follow that up with an equally positive rally this weekend. I am hopeful we can repeat our competitive performance and fight once again for the R5 podium. Once again, my partners at Group Auto, Top Garage, Ellip6 and Sparco will be behind us, which will give Julien and myself all the motivation we need.”
