PIERRE RAGUES SET TO CONTINUE WITH DEDICATED RALLY PROGRAMME IN 2016
 Race and rally sensation Pierre Ragues has announced a dedicated rally programme for 2016 which will sit alongside his recently announced GTE/Am racing commitments in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Pierre, who has taken to rallying with ease since his debut event two years ago, will get his 2016 programme underway later this month with a participation in the classic Rallye de la Cote Fleurie, which takes place on 26 and 27 February.
Driving a Citroen DS3 R5 alongside co-driver Julien Pesenti, Ragues will follow this opening rally with a French Rally Championship programme starting from Le Touquet and moving on to Lyon Charbonnieres.
Ragues has already demonstrated himself to be a versatile talent in the competitive world of rallying, showing competitive pace in class, as well as an ability to fight for outright podiums. With support from simulation experts Ellip6, Sparco, GroupAuto and tyres supplied by Michelin, Pierre will look to return to the rally stages in top form as he embarks on another busy season.
Pierre commented: “Rallying has long been a passion of mine so I am honoured to have the chance to add rally events to my existing programme of WEC races in 2016. I enjoy the thrill of rally cars and feel that it really gets the best out of me as a driver so I am looking forward to returning to events where I have built up experience in recent years. From Cote Fleurie to the French Rally Championship events, I can’t wait to see how the DS3 tackles the stages. I am pleased to have Julien alongside me in these events and thanks to my partners Ellip6, Sparco and GroupAuto for their support as I commence another busy but fun season of race and rally.”
