PIERRE RAGUES RETURNS TO RALLYING AT RALLYE DE LISIEUX
Driving star Pierre Ragues returns to rally action tomorrow as he re-joins the Racing Service team for this weekend’s Rallye de Lisieux, part of the Coupe de France des Rallyes.
This year’s Lisieux event, a local rally for Caen-born Ragues, will be the event’s seventh running and will once again take in road sections used on the Rallye de la Cote Fleurie, an event Pierre contested earlier this season.
Rallye de Lisieux will mark the next in a busy chapter of rally events for Ragues, as he continues successfully to juggle rally and endurance activities. Earlier this year he finished on the podium and took a class win at Cote Fleurie, while also scoring a podium at Touquet.
He will once again get behind the wheel of a Citröen DS3 R5, equipped with Michelin tyres, and with his co-driver Tibo Gorczyca once again in partnership. There are a staggering 96 entries for this rally, which will take place over two days and nine competitive stages. A total 121km of special stages will make up the event with five specials held on Saturday and four to conclude the rally on Sunday.
Pierre will once again derive support from his partners Group Auto, Top Garage, Sparco and Ellip6.
Pierre said: “From my last event in the WEC, which was at Nürburgring a few weeks ago, and ahead of the next round of the endurance championship, it will be nice to return “home” for a competitive rally. I am enjoying the opportunities to compete against some outstanding drivers in great machinery and feel that I can settle quickly into a good rally rhythm. We have two days of lovely stages on roads I’m familiar with, so I can’t wait to get going on Saturday. We have fought for class podiums a few times already this year, so I hope we can achieve the same feat in Lisieux this weekend. Thanks, of course, to all my partners – Group Auto, Top Garage, Sparco and Ellip6 for their continued support.”
