PIERRE RAGUES RETURNS TO RALLYING WITH SIGHTS SET ON ROUERGUE PODIUM
Pierre Ragues will make a return to rallying this weekend as the French driving ace contests the 42nd running of Rallye du Rouergue.
Pierre has been expertly managing a joint rally and endurance programme this season, juggling commitments in the World Endurance Championship with occasional participation in French rally events. In his first event since the Le Mans 24 Hours, Pierre will re-join the Racing Service team for the popular Rouergue rally, which will be his fourth rally event of 2015.
Pierre will take to the wheel of a Michelin-equipped Citroën DS3 R5 car alongside his co-driver Tibo Gorczyca as he looks to add to the podium results scored earlier this year. Ragues finished on the podium and secured a class win at Rallye de la Côte Fleurie, before taking a class podium at the opening round of the French Rally Championship – Rallye du Touquet.
Rally du Rouergue will take place from Thursday with the opening day reserved for shakedown and administrative checks. Action will then get underway on Friday with four special stages totalling 96.6km, followed by six stages of 110.28km on Saturday. All in all, the rally will cover a total distance of 206.88km stages, which Pierre will use to underscore his rally potential.
Pierre will once again have support from his partners Group Auto, Sparco, Top Garage and Ellip6.
Pierre commented: “Recently, my focus has been very much centred on the Le Mans 24 Hours but I am really looking forward to making a return to rallying. I feel very comfortable on the rally stages and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve at Rouergue this weekend. We have two days of specials which will allow me and Tibo to get back up to speed in the Citroën DS3 R5 and hopefully put ourselves once again in contention for a podium result. I had some good results earlier in the year and I am confident in my capabilities to deliver another strong run. There’s a lot of competition so we will have to keep focused and take each stage as it comes. Thanks, as ever, to Group Auto, Sparco, Ellip6 and Top Garage for their invaluable support.”
