PIERRE RAGUES TO MISS SEASON OPENER AS TEAM SARD MORAND ANNOUNCES WITHDRAWAL FROM 6 HOURS OF SILVERSTONE
Pierre Ragues will not take part in this weekend’s 6 Hours of Silverstone after TEAM SARD MORAND announced its withdrawal from the event this evening.

The team will not enter either of its two Morgan Evo SARD cars, including the #43 car that was due to be piloted by Ragues in the World Endurance Championship season opener.

The team has cited administrative and legal reasons for the withdrawal from Silverstone but has said that everything is being done to race in Belgium and the remaining rounds of the championship.

Pierre Ragues said: “I am shocked and incredibly disappointed that the team has withdrawn from this weekend’s event. I was looking forward to going racing in the #43 Morgan Evo SARD car and continuing the competitive pace that we showed in the Prologue. I am sorry for my personal partners Group Auto and Sparco but I understand the team is doing all it can to get to Spa for the second round – and beyond. I am contracted to the team for all events of this year’s World Endurance Championship – including Le Mans – so I hope for positive news in due course. I can’t really make any further comment at this time.
