SPARCO CELEBRATES SECOND ELMS CHAMPIONSHIP WITH SIGNATECH-ALPINE AND SCORES PODIUM CLEAN SWEEP AT ESTORIL Photo News
It has been a day to remember for Sparco as it celebrates its second consecutive European Le Mans Series title with Signatech-Alpine – and a 1-2-3 on the podium in the 4 Hours of Estoril.

Sparco had a number of its partner teams in the hunt for the Championship title today with the curtain closing on the 2014 season at the Estoril circuit. However, fifth place was sufficient for Signatech-Alpine to take a second Championship title after an exciting season finale.

It was a particularly poignant result for Sparco since the Signatech-Alpine team also used the company’s brand new mechanics’ helmet for the first time in today’s 4 Hours of Estoril, in addition to its high performing overalls.

In the race itself, the Sparco supported Sebastien Loeb Racing team won the event to become the fifth different LMP2 winner in five races. The #24 car finished half a minute ahead of the #43 NewBlood by Morand Racing car, which was driven by Sparco backed driver Pierre Ragues. To top a perfect weekend for Sparco, Jota Sport made a podium clean sweep and ensure that the Sparco name was well represented on the podium.

The prize giving ceremony will take place at the Casino of Estoril this evening with Sparco and Signatech-Alpine taking the jackpot.

Sparco’s Motorsport Manager Daniela Vignale said: “We are delighted that the Sparco backed SIgnatech Alpine team have become ELMS Champions for the second year in a row. They have been a fantastic partner for Sparco again this season, and we were pleased to debut our new mechanics helmet with them at Estoril this weekend. Furthermore, we saw a Sparco 1-2-3 on the Estoril podium: Sebastien Loeb Racing won the race with Sparco backed driver Pierre Ragues in second and Jota Sport in third. Jota’s result secured them second place in the Championship meaning a 1-2 for Sparco teams in the final classification, which is amazing. Congratulations to all the teams for their results this weekend – and all season. It is a pleasure for Sparco to be so closely aligned to such high performing, professional teams and to show our racewear technology off in such a competitive race series.”
