SPARCO TAKES TO THE TOP STEP OF PAUL RICARD PODIUM IN STUNNING ELMS 1-2 Photo News
The penultimate race of the 2014 European Le Mans Series has seen a second consecutive 1-2 for Sparco as its drivers dominated at Paul Ricard.

Sparco ambassador Pierre Ragues, driving for the NewBlood by Morand Racing team, laid claim to his first ELMS victory of the season in only his second race with the squad. Pierre wore Sparco’s high performance EXTREMA RS-10 overalls in his double stint as he helped the team take a convincing win.

Ragues has an affinity for the Paul Ricard circuit having taken the 2013 ELMS title with Signatech Alpine last year, and now adding a further victory to his impressive CV.

The Signatech Alpine team came runners up in today’s race as their trio of drivers (Nelson Panciatici, Paul Loup Chatin and Oliver Webb), took second place wearing Sparco. They continue to lead the overall ELMS championship with 68 points and one race remaining at Estoril in October.

For Sparco, the 4 Hours of Paul Ricard gave the company a chance to showcase the cooling characteristics of the EXTREMA RS-10, which allowed drivers like Pierre Ragues to cope with the hot conditions faced in the south of the France. The lightweight comfort afforded by the top of the range overalls reinforces Sparco’s position as a leader and innovator in race suit technology.

Sparco’s CEO Claudio Pastoris said: “Congratulations to Pierre Ragues on his contribution to NewBlood by Morand Racing’s fine victory at Paul Ricard today. As a Sparco ambassador, we are delighted to see Pierre take his first ELMS win of the season, and help his team escalate the championship standings. It was another Sparco 1-2 in today’s ELMS race with the Signatech-Alpine team finishing in the runner-up position. Importantly, this gives the team a nice lead margin in the championship standings and we naturally hope that we will see a Sparco partner team take this year’s ELMS title. Our EXTREMA RS-10 overalls have played a key role in the hot conditions of Paul Ricard and it is always a joy to see our Sparco technology directly benefit drivers and teams. We can’t wait for the season finale in Portugal next month.”
