PIERRE RAGUES GEARS UP FOR NEXT RALLY CHALLENGE AT MONT-BLANC MORZINE
French racer Pierre Ragues is continuing to acclimatise to the rigours of the rally world as he is set for yet another appearance in a French Rally Championship event next weekend.
Ragues will join the Deslandes Sport team in a Skoda Fabia S2000 at the 66th running of the Mont Blanc Morzine rally from 5-6 September.
The rally, which makes up part of the French championship, takes in ten special stages over two days and a total distance of almost 200km, with some truly stunning scenery.
Alongside his co-driving father Marcel Ragues, Pierre will be hoping to pick up from where he left off at the most recent rally event in Rouergue in July in which he finished second in the S2000 class.
Earlier this year, the French ace made an immediate impact in the rallying work when he scored two consecutive podiums at Rallye de la Côte Fleurie and Rallye du Coutancais, both part of the ‘Coupe de France des Rallyes’.
For Ragues, the event will offer another opportunity for him to showcase his skills behind the wheel of a rally car, as he masterfully juggles rally and endurance events in 2014. In fact, in the week directly after Mont Blanc, Pierre will return to the European Le Mans Series in a prototype at Paul Ricard.
Pierre commented: “I am delighted to be returning to rallying with the Deslandes Team and driving the incredible Skoda Fabia S2000 alongside my father Marcel. Rally Mont Blanc Morzine looks to be a fantastic event and I can’t wait to see how we perform over the two days of special stages. We have had some great highlights in rallying this year, alongside my endurance racing commitments, and this experience is really improving my skills as a driver. I feel very comfortable in the Skoda and within the team organisation, so hope that this next event in the French Rally Championship might offer me another chance to show what I am capable of. I’m thoroughly looking forward to it and am grateful for the support of Group Auto and Sparco for this coming event.”
