Pierre Ragues has continued to set competitive lap times around Circuit de la Sarthe as the 82nd running of the Le Mans 24 Hours moves into Sunday, completing a quadruple stint in the early hours.

Ragues, who helped the Larbre Competition team move into the top ten of LMP2 in the early evening, continued to show his experience by helping the team to recover from a puncture late on Saturday night.

Following his previous run, Ragues handed over the #50 Morgan-Judd LMP2 to team-mate Ricky Taylor, who was eager to continue the good form. Unfortunately, he ran into trouble when he experienced a puncture with 15:15 remaining on the clock.

Upon returning to the pits, the team found damage to the rear cover of the car, as well as some damage to the floor, caused by the puncture. Spending 19 minutes stationary in the pits, the Larbre entry dropped down to 31st place overall.

Ragues took over for a quadruple stint at 00:30 and fought hard. The Frenchman drove superbly to take the team back up to 25th and 11th in the highly competitive LMP2 class with the team hoping to make further gains throughout the night.

Pierre said: “I have been really pleased with how I have been driving in this year’s Le Mans. I feel very comfortable with the car and the team, and I am making the most of my experience at this track. We had a problem during Ricky’s stint where the car picked up a puncture that caused some damage to the rear of the car. The team worked excellently to minimise the lost time and we have since fought hard to recover some of the lost positions with a great quadruple stint. We have lost some time but thanks to the professional approach of the team, we are still competing and making up places. Let’s hope this continues throughout the night and into the morning.”
