PIERRE RAGUES SOAKS UP THE SUPPORT ON SUNNY DRIVERS’ PARADE
Le Mans ace Pierre Ragues has this evening joined his Larbre Competition team-mates Ricky Taylor and Keiko Ihara on the traditional pre-race drivers’ parade.
Along with all 55 competing teams in this year’s 82 Le Mans 24 Hours, Pierre and the team took to the streets around Le Mans to parade in front of the thousands of fans who turned out.
The drivers’ parade is one of the iconic moments of the Le Mans week along with the scrutineering and autograph session, which add to the thrilling spectacle of track action to make the event so special.
Today has seen no track action for the Le Mans vehicles but fans have been flocking to the circuit to experience the pitlane walk and to get up, close and personal to the La Sarthe track.
For Pierre, the next objective is a good night’s sleep ahead of the warm-up session on Saturday morning, the final chance for the team to make any set-up changes or adjustments ahead of the 24 Hour race, which starts at 15:00 CET on Saturday afternoon.
Ragues said: “Wow! Always such a special moment when we embark on the drivers’ parade. To have the chance to see all the fans so close and to feel their excitement and passion for this event is just wonderful. I am due to take part in my eighth Le Mans 24 Hours tomorrow but this parade is as enjoyable as every year. I just like to take in the moment and to take it all in as energy for tomorrow’s race. Our next target is warm-up tomorrow morning where we will make final adjustments to our Morgan-Judd LMP2 before the race.”
