PIERRE RAGUES CONFIRMED FOR FULL WEC SEASON WITH G-DRIVE BY SIGNATECH-NISSAN Photo NewsFrench endurance racer Pierre Ragues received a boost to his 2012 season after the Signatech-Nissan team confirmed his participation in each of seven remaining races of this year’s World Endurance Championship.

The announcement was made today at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, venue for the second round of the all new World Endurance Championship, ahead of Pierre’s first endurance race of the year.

Originally confirmed just for the Spa 6 Hours, Le Mans 24 Hours and Silverstone 6 Hours events, Pierre’s commitments to Signatech-Nissan will now also extend to the intercontinental 6 hour races in Brazil, Bahrain, Fuji, Shanghai.

The Signatech-Nissan team also unveiled a brand new partner, Russian premium fuel brand G-Drive, specifically for the #26 Oreca 03 car which Pierre shares with his team-mates for 2012, Roman Rusinov and Nelson Panciatici.

The car will be rebranded G-Drive by Signatech-Nissan as a result of this new partnership alongside existing partners Nissan, Playstation, Dunlop and Pierre’s personal supporters Group Auto Union.

Pierre commented: “It was already a pleasure to receive the support of Signatech-Nissan for the initial three races here at Spa, as well as Le Mans and Silverstone, so I am overjoyed to have my partnership with this great team extended for the rest of the season. It is also fantastic to welcome the new partner G-Drive to the team and to continue working alongside my new team-mates Roman and Nelson. Along with the backing of the team’s existing partners and my own personal partner Group Auto Union, I can now look forward to a full season in this highly competitive World Endurance Championship at some of the best race circuits in the world, all under the banner of the #26 G-Drive by Signatech-Nissan Oreca 03. This team is like a family to me after our successes together from 2009 and 2010, so I look forward to repaying their faith in my abilities with some good results, starting this weekend at Spa.”

Signatech-Nissan boss Philippe Sinault added:
“It is excellent news to welcome our new partner G-Drive and to be able to offer Pierre a drive for the remaining seven races of this season. He is a real talent and has always been a fantastic member of our family. We share good memories from our racing in LMS in 2009 and 2010, so it’s great to have him as part of our competitive driver line-up with Roman and Nelson and to add a second competitive LMP2 car to our line-up.”
